Brazos Midstream Announces New Natural Gas Processing Plant to Support Continued Midland Basin Growth
Cassidy II will increase Brazos’ total Midland Basin processing capacity to 1.1 Bcf/d
FORT WORTH, TX – Brazos Midstream (“Brazos”) today announced plans to construct an additional 300 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) cryogenic natural gas processing plant at the company’s Cassidy processing complex in Glasscock County, Texas. The new plant, Cassidy II, is expected to be operational in the summer of 2027 and will increase Brazos’ total nameplate processing capacity in the Midland Basin to approximately 1.1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). The expansion is supported by long-term acreage dedications covering approximately 575,000 acres from top-tier private and publicly-traded producer customers currently in full-scale development. With the recent addition of a new long-term contract with a supermajor, Brazos’s system volumes currently exceed 700 MMcf/d.
“Our producer customers are accelerating development in deeper formations like the Barnett, with higher gas-to-oil ratios, dramatically increasing natural gas production across the Brazos system,” said Stephen Luskey, Chief Commercial Officer of Brazos Midstream. “This growth coupled with our continued commercial success unlocks the next phase of our buildout. Our ability to deliver this incremental capacity on an abbreviated timeline is a great example of our commitment to build critical midstream infrastructure ahead of planned development and to expand alongside our customers.”
Earlier this year, Brazos announced the construction of Cassidy I, a 300 MMcf/d cryogenic natural gas processing facility also located at the Cassidy complex, with mechanical completion expected by November 2026 and an in-service date before year-end.
